Unassign hardware from a supply point

Unassign a unit when it leaves a supply point and nothing replaces it. The unit stays in the Hardware section and becomes available to assign to another supply point.

Before you start

• You need the Hardware: Assign permission. Ask an administrator if you do not see the remove icon on the supply point’s Hardware tab.

Steps

1. In the sidebar, open Projects and Sites and choose Supply Points.
2. Click the supply point’s name to open it.
3. Click the Hardware tab.
4. Click the remove icon on the unit’s card, or in the Actions column in List view.
5. Read the confirmation, then click Unassign Hardware.

Caution

The confirmation is titled Unassign Hardware from Supply Point? and reads SN-QDU-001 will be unassigned from this supply point. (with the unit’s own serial number) and The hardware won’t be deleted — it will remain available in the Hardware section.

What happens next

• A Hardware unassigned from supply point message appears and the tab shows No Hardware Assigned.
• The unit’s assignment is closed, so it appears in the Assign Hardware list of every supply point.
• If the unassignment fails, the dialog stays open and shows the error so you can try again.
